Multi-code OBD2 diagnosis
Enter all the codes your scanner showed, not just the first one. We give you the overall severity, whether you can keep driving, the order in which to check them and how they relate to each other.

The order below is the recommended one: first the codes that can cause the others. After each repair, clear the codes and check which ones come back.
Order of inspection
P2197 O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean (Bank 2 Sensor 1) Medium
The P2197 code means the oxygen sensor on bank 2, ahead of the catalytic converter, stayed reading lean and did not react when the computer changed the mixture on purpose. It is usually a worn sensor, an exhaust leak next to it or a mixture that really is lean. You can drive for a short time, but a poorly controlled mixture raises fuel use.
