P0542 Intake Air Heater A Circuit High Low
The P0542 code means the computer sees high voltage in the control circuit of the intake air heater, either an open circuit or a short to voltage. It can cause hard starting when the engine is cold, along with white smoke. Start with the connector and the wiring before you replace the heater grid.
