Order of inspection
P0172 System Too Rich (Bank 1) Medium
The P0172 code means the computer had to pull fuel for a long time to make up for a rich mixture and ran out of room to correct. Either more gasoline is arriving than needed, or less air is entering than the sensor reports. It is the exact opposite of P0171 and shares much of its diagnostic method.
